Atmospherics/Weather Works
“Atmospherics/Weather Works was first developed in 2003 for the creation of sonifications based on highly detailed and physically accurate meteorological data. The audio CD presents 6 short sonifications I created from weather data centered around New York City describing the most intense 24 hour period of activity for Hurricane Bob, 1991 and The President's Day Snowstorm of 1979. The resulting turbulent and evocative compositions allowed listeners to experience geographically scaled events on a human scale and gain a deeper understanding of some of the more unpredictable complex rhythms and melodies of nature.” — Andrea Polli.
For alectricity, the sonification Hurricane Bob, August 18, 1991: 8500 feet is presented as a selection from Atmospherics/Weather Works.
